How to Play Video Poker

[ English ]

Video Poker is a popular game that is able to be gambled on in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a net account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player trying to get the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the involvement with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of five cards will then be "distributed" on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the gambler has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be given out. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones each instance.

Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their profits, in which situation another game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
