Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos all over the globe, or in your house on your home computer, using a net connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "dealt" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she wishes to keep, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be handed out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are able to choose the most profitable game each time.
Once the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their wins, in which situation a further game is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
